Security Overview
Built to keep restaurant operations data controlled and accountable
KitchenInvy stores operational information that matters to a restaurant: inventory counts, supplier records, item costs, recipes, waste records, order lists, team access, and POS setup details. The product is built around controlled access, workspace separation, encrypted credentials, and clear support accountability.
Workspace separation
Restaurant data is organized by workspace so each business can manage its own users, inventory, reports, and setup information. Team members only access the workspace and pages their role allows.
Role-based access
KitchenInvy supports roles for owners, managers, staff, accountants, and read-only users. Admins can manage which pages roles can see, helping keep staff workflows focused while protecting sensitive areas such as settings, billing, POS setup, and reports.
Integration credentials
POS credentials entered into KitchenInvy are encrypted before storage. Authorized workspace admins can replace or remove credentials when a POS account changes, an employee leaves, or a connection needs to be reset.
Billing security
Subscription checkout and billing are handled through Stripe. KitchenInvy stores billing references needed to manage plan access, but does not store full payment card numbers in the app.
Support access
Support access is intended for troubleshooting, onboarding help, and customer-requested setup services. Support view activity is logged so there is a record when KitchenInvy helps with a workspace.
Customer controls
Your team can reduce risk by keeping admin access limited, removing former staff promptly, and using role-based access so each person only sees the pages needed for their work.
- Use Google, Apple, Microsoft, or Yahoo sign-in where possible and keep admin accounts limited.
- Remove users promptly when staff members leave.
- Only give staff access to the pages they need for daily work.
- Avoid putting payment card numbers or unnecessary personal data into notes or support forms.
- Rotate POS credentials if you believe they may have been exposed outside KitchenInvy.
